
The annual Ramadan Tafsir series sponsored by the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation reached a spiritually uplifting grand finale on Saturday, March 13, 2026, at the Ikorodu Central Mosque, bringing together Islamic scholars, community leaders, and Muslim faithful from across Ikorodu Division.
The grand finale lecture was led by the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division and Chief Imam of Ikorodu Central Mosque, Sheikh Seifudeen Ademoritan Ayinla Olowooribi, who delivered a profound sermon emphasizing the importance of faith, moral discipline, compassion, and the enduring lessons of Ramadan.
The event marked the culmination of a Tafsir tour organized by the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation across the six local councils that make up Ikorodu Federal Constituency, a programme designed to strengthen spiritual engagement within the Muslim community during the holy month.
Before the grand finale in Ikorodu, the Tafsir train had visited the Central Mosques of each of the local councils, beginning with Ijede Central Mosque in Ijede LCDA, where the foundation team was warmly received by the Chief Imam of Ijede LCDA, Sheikh Sulaimon Olatunji Akinjobi.
From there, the Tafsir series moved to the Igbogbo Central Mosque under the spiritual leadership of the Grand Chief Imam of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Sheikh Abdulganiu Abolore Gazali.
Speaking during the programme in Igbogbo, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun, praised Rep. Babajimi Benson for his inclusive leadership and impactful representation, noting that the activities of the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation have continued to positively transform lives across the division through various humanitarian and community development initiatives.
The Tafsir series also held at other locations across Ikorodu Division, including Ikorodu West LCDA under the guidance of Sheikh Aridegbe Kosoko Mushafau Folohunso, Chief Imam General of Ikorodu West LCDA; Imota LCDA under the spiritual leadership of Chief Imam Adams Moruff Kolawole, the Chief Imam of Imota LCDA; Ikorodu North LCDA under the leadership of Sheikh Raji Eniijaoba, the Chief Imam of Ikorodu North LCDA; and Oriwu Central Mosque under the leadership of His Eminence Yahya Olorunoshebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi As-Samadaani, the Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque.
Across all the locations visited, the Chief Imams and Islamic scholars commended Rep. Babajimi Benson for his unwavering support for the Muslim community in Ikorodu Division despite being a Christian.
They noted that the lawmaker has consistently demonstrated religious tolerance, unity, and generosity through his financial support to mosques, Islamic programmes, and various Islamic leadership structures across the division.
Speaking on behalf of Islamic leaders in Ijede, Sheikh Sulaimon Olatunji Akinjobi prayed for Rep. Benson and expressed appreciation for his continuous commitment to strengthening the Muslim community through initiatives such as the Ramadan Tafsir series.
Similarly, Sheikh Abdulganiu Abolore Gazali of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA commended the lawmaker’s inclusive leadership style, describing his interventions as a reflection of genuine service to humanity beyond religious boundaries.
Other clerics including Sheikh Aridegbe Kosoko Mushafau Folohunso of Ikorodu West LCDA, Chief Imam Adams Moruff Kolawole of Imota LCDA, Sheikh Raji Eniijaoba of Ikorodu North LCDA, and His Eminence Yahya Olorunoshebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi As-Samadaani of Oriwu Central Mosque also offered prayers for Rep. Benson and members of the iCare Foundation, thanking them for their sustained support for Islamic activities and community development.
They emphasized that such gestures of unity and compassion strengthen peaceful coexistence and reinforce the values of mutual respect within the diverse communities of Ikorodu Division.
The Tafsir programmes across the six councils attracted notable personalities, community stakeholders, and political leaders who joined Muslim faithful in seeking spiritual guidance and praying for peace, unity, and progress in Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large.
As the Ramadan Tafsir series came to a close at the Ikorodu Central Mosque, participants described the initiative as a powerful demonstration of interfaith harmony and community-focused leadership, further reinforcing the role of the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation as a platform for social impact and spiritual engagement across Ikorodu Federal Constituency
