Many households across Ikorodu have received support through the Ramadan and Lenten edition of the Apo Aanu Food Distribution Programme, an initiative organized by the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation to assist residents during the sacred seasons.
The programme, championed by Hon. Babajimi Benson, the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, was designed to ease the burden on families observing Ramadan and Lent while encouraging kindness, generosity, and humanitarian service within the community.
During the exercise, residents from several communities within Ikorodu were provided with food packages in a well-organized and peaceful distribution process.
One of the beneficiaries, Olawale Qasim from Ward C4 in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, who attended the programme for the first time, expressed satisfaction with the arrangement and the impact of the initiative. He noted that the exercise was properly coordinated and showed consideration for vulnerable individuals in the community.
“I am really impressed with what I witnessed today. It is different from just hearing about it. The process was smooth and not stressful at all. I also appreciate how elderly people and persons living with disabilities were given proper attention during the distribution,” he said.
Qasim explained that programmes like the Apo Aanu initiative are very important, especially considering the current economic challenges facing many families across the country.
He also urged residents to play their part in community development by maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Another beneficiary attending the programme for the first time, Adesina Fatai, also expressed appreciation to Hon. Babajimi Benson for the gesture. He described the food distribution as timely and helpful, adding that it brought relief and happiness to many families.
Fatai further commended the lawmaker for his continued commitment to the progress and welfare of the people of Ikorodu, encouraging him to keep up the good work.
