Earlier today, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, hosted representatives of the Farmers Association of Nigeria (FAN), Ijede Branch, at the Council Secretariat for a strategic engagement aimed at advancing agriculture and improving food distribution within the community.
Representing the association, Mr. Agbabiaka presented proposals on establishing a regular farmers’ market where farmers can sell fresh produce directly to the people at reduced prices, as well as a possible off-taker partnership with the council, where the council purchases farm produce to reduce post-harvest losses and sell directly to residents at affordable prices.
In her response, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, acknowledged the vital role and importance of farmers in the community.
“My administration’s priority is to ensure that quality food items are made available to residents of Ijede at affordable prices,” she said.
