In a grand ceremony held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, on Saturday, July 27, 2025, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, officially swore in Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele as the Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), alongside 56 other newly elected council chairmen.

The event marked a pivotal moment for grassroots governance in Lagos State, as Governor Sanwo-Olu charged the new council bosses to prioritize people-centered leadership, transparency, and accelerated development across their communities.

In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of local governance as the closest tier to the people. He urged the newly inaugurated chairmen to deliver on their campaign promises, foster inclusive policies, and ensure their administrations reflect the ideals of the “THEMES Plus” agenda of his government — which focuses on Transportation and Traffic Management, Health and Environment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism, Security and Governance, and more.
Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele’s emergence as Chairman of Imota LCDA is seen as a strong mandate from the people — one that reflects confidence in his capacity to lead and transform the community. His assumption of office is expected to usher in a new era of growth, infrastructure expansion, social welfare, and youth empowerment within Imota and its environs.
As he takes the mantle of leadership, residents of Imota LCDA are optimistic that Hon. Ayodele will bring visible progress and inclusive development to every ward under his administration.
