As the people of Ikorodu Kingdom mark a decade of purposeful reign and enduring legacy under Alayeluwa Oba Engr. AbdulKabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, royal greetings and heartfelt congratulations have continued to pour in — and among the most notable is the goodwill message from His Royal Majesty, Eze Augustine Osondu Nwego (Ezeoha I), the traditional leader of the Ebonyi community in Ikorodu.
A Royal Father Honours Another
In his message, HRM Ezeoha I congratulated the Ayangburen on his 10th anniversary on the throne, describing him as “a father to all, a symbol of peace, and the greatest gift to the people of Ikorodu.”
“I congratulate His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. AbdulKabir Adewale Shotobi, on his 10th year of peaceful and progressive reign as the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom,” Ezeoha said.
“May the Almighty continue to grant our Kabiyesi long life, good health, and greater success as he continues to lead with wisdom, strength, and vision. Oba Shotobi is more than a traditional ruler — he is a father figure to all, including we the non-indigenes. His leadership has united people of different tribes and walks of life in Ikorodu.”

Ezeoha I praised the Ayangburen’s impactful contributions to Ikorodu’s development in the past decade, especially in the areas of:
Peaceful coexistence
Intercultural unity
Youth empowerment
Support for traditional institutions
“The Oba’s reign has brought visible transformation to Ikorodu. He is a blessing to the land — a true royal who leads with heart and humility,” Ezeoha added.
Royal Bond Beyond Tribe
As a custodian of Igbo culture in Lagos, Ezeoha I reiterated the strong bond between the Igbo community and the Ikorodu royal institution.
“We the entire Ebonyi people and Igbo community living in Ikorodu join the sons and daughters of this kingdom to celebrate our king. Kabiyesi remains our father and we will continue to support his vision for a greater Ikorodu.”
