As the Ayangburen at 10 celebration continued with grandeur and cultural richness, Mrs. Folashade Mujidat Ojo, daughter of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, was formally installed as Aniyikaye of Ikorodu Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. AbdulKabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu.
The colourful ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 6, 2025, at the Ayangburen Palace in Ikorodu, drawing dignitaries, traditional rulers, and market leaders from across Nigeria.
A Gathering of Royal Fathers and Cultural Custodians
The event witnessed the majestic presence of notable royal fathers, including:
Oba Barr. AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo
HRM Oba Elias Omoloro Adedapo Ijelu, Paramount Ruler of Otta Kingdom in Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA
HRM Oba Buldr Asumo, the Alayandelu of Odo Ayandelu Kingdom
Oba Rakaq, the Eweye of Isiwu Kingdom
Oba of Ogijo
Also present were Iyalojas from across Nigeria, reflecting the unifying force of market leadership and traditional institutions.
Cultural Homage and Entertainment
The ceremony opened with a vibrant welcome speech by Deaconess Oluwabusola Isikalu, the Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu Division, after which the installation rites were conducted. Market women from various zones paid homage to the Ayangburen, as did representatives from the Igbo and Hausa communities in Ikorodu.
The event was beautifully laced with musical performance by Fuji maestro Alhaji Taye Currency, who energized the gathering with rich traditional rhythms.

Words of Unity and Support
Speaking to QuickGist on behalf of the Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu, Mrs. Abisola Emma-Adebayo, Iyaloja of Ayegbami Market, congratulated the Ayangburen on his 10th coronation anniversary and praised the newly installed Aniyikaye, Mrs. Folashade Mujidat Ojo, for her visionary leadership.
“She is a strong, dependable, and respected leader. We are proud to have her honored in Ikorodu Kingdom,” Mrs. Emma-Adebayo said.
She also called on all market women across Ikorodu to unite in support of the Iyaloja-General and the palace, stressing that “unity is strength, and with collective support, Ikorodu will prosper.”
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Ram Sellers Association described the Ayangburen as “a good man, a peace-loving king, and a father to all,” while offering prayers for his continued reign and the development of Ikorodu.
A Royal Day for the History Books
The installation of Mrs. Folashade Mujidat Ojo as Aniyikaye marks a significant highlight of the 10-day anniversary of Ayangburen’s coronation. It further strengthens the bond between the traditional institution and market leadership, aligning with the vision of inclusive governance and community advancement.
