In preparation for the upcoming 25th National Women’s Conference organized by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, led a large-scale awareness walk across Ikorodu Division.
The exercise, aimed at promoting fitness and women’s empowerment, began at Ebute Dangote Ferry Terminal, Ipakodo (Ikorodu West LCDA), and ended along Ayangburen Road in Ikorodu Central, after passing through Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.
The event brought together wives of public officials, council chairmen, political leaders, civil servants, and community members. Participants radiated excitement and unity, reflecting the essence of this year’s conference theme: “Step Up, Show Up, Never Give Up.”
Addressing the crowd, Dr. Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of resilience and collaboration among women.
“This walk embodies our collective strength and readiness to build a stronger Lagos. Let us continue to rise and remain committed to our purpose,” she said.
She was joined by Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, wife of the Deputy Governor, as well as several notable figures including Mrs. Feyisola Abiru, Mrs. Mojisola Agbaje, and Hon. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, who all commended her leadership.
Mrs. Abiru described the First Lady as “a shining light for women’s empowerment,” while Mrs. Agbaje praised her health campaigns, especially the Stop Tuberculosis Initiative implemented across Ikorodu Division.
The event was marked by colorful fitness routines, music, and enthusiastic participation.
The COWLSO 25th National Women’s Conference is scheduled to hold from October 28–30, 2025, at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
