
Ikorodu Records Impressive INEC CVR Progress After Four Weeks — Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba Commends Citizens, APC Leaders, and Stakeholders for Strengthening Democracy
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Local Government Area continues to lead by example in promoting democratic participation, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) report after four weeks reveals a remarkable turnout of new voters across all wards.
The Ikorodu INEC CVR Implementation Committee announced that a total of 25,672 new voters were successfully registered between September and October 2025. This milestone underscores Ikorodu’s enduring commitment to civic responsibility, political inclusion, and good governance.

Aarebirin Commends the Spirit of Ikorodu
Speaking on the significance of the exercise, Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Publicity Secretary of the Committee and immediate past Executive Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, expressed deep appreciation to the people of Ikorodu for their active participation and enthusiasm.
“This result after four weeks shows that Ikorodu people truly believe in democracy and in shaping their own future. Every Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) represents a voice, a vision, and a vote for good governance,” she
.
She praised the dedication of committee members, community leaders, market women, youth groups, and volunteers who tirelessly mobilized residents, noting that the impressive turnout demonstrates Ikorodu’s unity and commitment to inclusive governance.
“Our people have once again proven that progress begins when everyone participates. Let’s sustain this energy — because our voices matter, and our votes count,” she added.
National Overview: Over 6.8 Million Nigerians Pre-Register Online
According to new data released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), more than 6.8 million Nigerians have completed online pre-registration as part of the ongoing CVR .
Between September 29 and October 5, 2025 (Week Seven):
Women: 3,581,562 (52.23%)
Men: 3,275,417 (47.77%)
Youth (18–34 years): 4,689,637
Students: 1,728,384
Persons with Disabilities: 154,479
This remarkable level of national participation reflects Nigeria’s growing civic awareness and renewed determination to shape the nation’s future through the ballot.
Appreciation and Call to Action
In her closing remarks, Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba expressed gratitude to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to inspire citizens toward active civic engagement.
She also appreciated the APC Apex Leaders, Governance Advisory Council (GAC) Members, the Governor of Lagos State, Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Council Chairmen, Councillors, Youth leaders, Market leaders, and grassroots mobilizers for their collective contributions to the growth of democracy.
“Our success in Ikorodu is a collective effort — the product of leadership, teamwork, and the determination of our people to build a better future through the ballot,” she noted.
The entire APC family in Ikorodu also joined in appreciating the residents for their civic spirit and encouraged everyone who has yet to register for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to take advantage of the ongoing exercise without delay.
“This is the time to register, update your details, and collect your PVC. Your vote is your power — don’t let it go to waste,” the party appealed.
