As Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Mayoress and Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, celebrates 100 days in office for her second term, her message is clear: this is a new phase of service, continuity, and progress built upon a solid foundation of results.
A Legacy Built on Tangible Impact
Looking back on her first term, Princess Bada noted that her administration was guided by action, not ambition. Within four years, over 104 people-focused projects were completed across healthcare, education, infrastructure, sports, security, and market development.
One of the administration’s landmark projects remains the 105-bedded Senator Oluremi Tinubu Primary Healthcare Centre — a facility recognized as Nigeria’s largest and most advanced at the grassroots level. Commissioned by the First Lady of Nigeria, represented by Hajia Nana Shettima (wife of the Vice President), it stands as a symbol of accessible healthcare for all.
The council also reconstructed the Ikosi Fruit Market, developed the Babajide Sanwo-Olu International Market, and expanded several road networks that improved trade, eased mobility, and enhanced security across communities.
“Our first term was defined by performance, not promises,” said Princess Bada. “Those achievements laid the foundation for what we now call the Renewed Hope Chapter — a second term focused on deepening impact and expanding inclusion.”
Driven by Renewed Hope and the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Vision
Princess Bada’s second-term agenda draws guidance from two major development blueprints:
- The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which inspires local leaders to deliver national transformation through community-based governance.
- The T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, which prioritizes technology, inclusion, mobility, and sustainable development.
“These two frameworks drive our direction in Ikosi-Isheri,” she explained. “We align our projects with their vision because effective governance begins with the people and must end with measurable impact.”
100 Days of Renewed Hope in Action
To commemorate the first 100 days of her second term, Princess Bada’s administration rolled out a week-long commissioning of community projects, each reflecting the Renewed Hope promise in real time.
Day 1 – Tuesday, November 4
Commissioning of Adetuberu Street, Isaac Omole Street, and Temitayo Obisanyan Street in Olowora — major roads improving connectivity, transportation, and commercial activity. Adetuberu Street now serves as a central link for residents and traders.
Day 2 – Wednesday, November 5
Commissioning of Onibeju Street, Shangisha, and Princess Samiat Bada Street, Solomon Niran Aluko Street, Bello Folawiyo Street, and Yetunde Owoseni Street in Ikosi. These projects were completed following community requests, showcasing the administration’s commitment to citizen engagement and participatory governance.
Day 3 – Thursday, November 6
Commissioning of the New Mile 12 International Market (Phase II) — a modern trading hub providing safer, more structured, and inclusive opportunities for thousands of traders.
Day 4 – Friday, November 7 (Morning)
Commissioning of Science Road, Unilag Estate, connecting educational and residential communities under the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus development framework.
Grand Finale – Friday, November 7 (Main Event)
A closing ceremony at the Senator Bayo Oshinowo Hall, Ikosi Secretariat, featured the distribution of Renewed Hope Palliatives to 2,000 residents — a direct show of compassion and support to families across the LCDA.

In line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision, the council is launching a Monthly Cash Support Programme for 500 residents, each receiving ₦100,000.
The initiative aims to deliver direct financial relief to households and make Renewed Hope a lived reality at the grassroots.

Princess Bada urged residents — especially women and youth — to participate actively in voter registration and political processes.
“Your Permanent Voter Card is your voice,” she said. “It’s the key to sustaining development and ensuring that the Renewed Hope we enjoy today blossoms tomorrow.”

She also unveiled a new initiative — ‘Keke Mayoress’, a community-based waste collection scheme for areas not covered by LAWMA trucks. Residents will make minimal contributions to ensure consistent and efficient waste management.
