The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Ikorodu Local Government has continued to record remarkable progress, as the number of registered voters has now risen to over 50,000, with the target of achieving 120,000 registrations before the end of the exercise.
Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Publicity Secretary of the Ikorodu INEC CVR Implementation Committee, expressed her appreciation to the residents of Ikorodu for their enthusiastic participation and sustained commitment to the democratic process.
According to her, “Ikorodu has once again proven to be a model of active civic participation in Lagos State. We are currently leading in the total number of registrations, and we will not rest until everyone eligible has registered.”
She encouraged those who have not yet registered—especially young citizens who just turned 18 and new residents of Ikorodu—to take advantage of the ongoing CVR to secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“Your PVC is your voice and your power. Let’s all make our votes count,” she added.
Ikorodu’s Continued Leadership in Lagos
The CVR Implementation Committee, chaired by Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, with Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba as Co-Chairman, has continued to mobilize residents across all wards with support from ward councillors, market leaders, youth organizations, and community volunteers.
The committee’s coordinated approach has contributed to Ikorodu’s consistent lead in Lagos State, building upon the 25,672 registrations recorded in the first four weeks of the exercise.
Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba commended the efforts of all committee members and grassroots stakeholders for keeping the momentum strong, emphasizing that the ongoing success is a product of unity, dedication, and shared purpose.

She further acknowledged the leadership inspiration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to motivate citizens to participate in governance and strengthen democratic institutions.
“The progress we are making is not just about numbers—it’s about people believing again in democracy and in the power of their voice,” she said.
Call to Action
The APC family in Ikorodu calls on all residents who have not yet registered or updated their voter details to visit the nearest registration center.
