The popular Apo Anu food intervention has once again touched hundreds of homes in Ikorodu Federal Constituency as Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives, continues his consistent effort to cushion economic hardship among residents.
The initiative—powered through the iCare Foundation—has been running every month since 2016, making it one of the longest-standing grassroots welfare programmes in Lagos State. For nine consecutive years, Apo Anu has delivered essential food items to the elderly, widows, people with disabilities, unemployed youths, and families struggling with rising living costs.
In the latest distribution exercise coordinated through the lawmaker’s constituency office, over 500 residents received food packs containing rice, beans, pasta, noodles, palm oil, and other basic items. The program continues to provide meaningful relief to vulnerable households at a critical time.
Residents who benefited expressed heartfelt appreciation for the lawmaker’s consistent support.
Mrs. Mariam Adefemi, one of the beneficiaries, shared:
“This support came at the perfect time. It helps reduce expenses for my family. May God bless Hon. Benson for remembering us.”
Mr. Ganiu Adedoyin described the programme as a lifeline for many families:
“Things are tough, and this kind gesture means a lot. We pray that God continues to strengthen him to do more for the community.”
Another beneficiary, Mrs. Rukayat Salami, praised the initiative for its continuity:
“Apo Anu has been a blessing for years. This monthly food pack really supports my household, especially now that prices are high.”
Since its launch, thousands of families across Ikorodu have benefitted from the monthly distributions, making Apo Anu a signature humanitarian project associated with Rep. Benson’s compassion-driven leadership.
As economic pressures continue to affect households, Apo Anu remains a dependable support system—reinforcing the lawmaker’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of his constituency.
