Two-Day Programme Features Grand Dinner, Olubadan Palace Visit and Grand Inauguration
IBADAN, OYO STATE — The Tinubu Torch Bearers (TTB), Oyo State Chapter, has been officially inaugurated in Ibadan as the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its supporters intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The two-day programme, held on August 30 and 31, 2026, attracted a massive turnout of political leaders, APC stakeholders, women and youth leaders, candidates, supporters and members of the Tinubu Torch Bearers from across Oyo State and the Southwest.
The programme commenced on August 30 with a grand dinner and continued on August 31 with a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland before culminating in the grand inauguration of the Oyo State Chapter at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.
GRAND DINNER OPENS TWO-DAY PROGRAMME
The programme commenced on August 30, 2026, with a grand dinner led by APC National Leader [NAME].
The dinner brought together TTB leaders, APC stakeholders, political leaders, candidates, supporters and invited guests in an atmosphere of unity, networking and celebration.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for members and stakeholders from across the Southwest to strengthen relationships and build momentum ahead of the grand inauguration.
COURTESY VISIT TO THE OLUBADAN PALACE
The final day of activities commenced with a courtesy visit by the TTB delegation to the Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The delegation paid homage to the traditional institution and acknowledged the historical and cultural significance of Ibadanland.
The visit also underscored the importance of peaceful engagement, unity and collaboration with traditional institutions and community stakeholders.
MASSIVE TURNOUT AT GRAND INAUGURATION
The high point of the programme was the grand inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers Oyo State Chapter at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.
The event recorded a massive turnout, with APC leaders, women leaders, political stakeholders, TTB members, supporters and other dignitaries gathering from different parts of Oyo State and the Southwest.
The inauguration represents a fresh phase in the expansion of the TTB grassroots structure in Oyo State, with a renewed focus on mobilisation, women participation, youth engagement and community outreach ahead of the 2027 elections.
FIRST LADY REPRESENTED BY MINISTER
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was the Special Guest of Honour at the grand inauguration and was represented by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
Delivering the First Lady’s message, the Minister charged women and APC supporters in Oyo State to move beyond rallies and ceremonial gatherings by taking the mobilisation directly to wards, communities and polling units.
She emphasised the important role of women in grassroots political mobilisation and urged members of the newly inaugurated structure to ensure that the support being expressed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu translates into votes at the 2027 elections.
According to the Minister, the strength of the Tinubu Torch Bearers would depend largely on its ability to maintain sustained contact and engagement with voters at the grassroots.
She also called on APC members and supporters in Oyo State to support the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, his running mate, Adesoji Adedeji, and other APC candidates contesting elective positions across the state.
APC LEADERS AND STAKEHOLDERS RALLY SUPPORT
The grand inauguration attracted prominent APC leaders, candidates and stakeholders, including Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State.
Senator Alli spoke on the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and called for continued support for the President, the APC and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Also present was Hon. Zainab A. Ibrahim (Aunty Zee), APC Deputy Governorship Candidate of Taraba State, alongside other political leaders, candidates, women leaders, stakeholders and supporters.

The successful two-day programme — beginning with the grand dinner on August 30, followed by the Olubadan Palace visit and grand inauguration at Liberty Stadium on August 31 — marked a significant milestone for the Tinubu Torch Bearers in Oyo State.
Beyond the celebration and inauguration, the message from the leadership was clear: the next phase is about taking grassroots mobilisation beyond major events and into the wards, communities and polling units where meaningful voter engagement takes place.
With the Oyo State Chapter now inaugurated, TTB is positioned to deepen its grassroots presence, strengthen women and youth participation and support sustained engagement across the state and the wider Southwest.
