Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, has commissioned six newly constructed roads across Solebo Estate and Olu-Odo, reaffirming his commitment to infrastructural development and improved living conditions for residents.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, highlighted the impact of federal representation on grassroots development. Benson disclosed that approximately 100 projects had been facilitated across Ikorodu Federal Constituency under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also outlined plans for more developmental interventions, including a bridge linking Majidun to Ogolonto, the Pacific Igbe Road project, the provision of about 10 transformers, five vehicles for security agencies, the equipping of a trauma centre at the General Hospital, and the rebuilding and equipping of a diagnostic centre in Imota. He further announced plans for an empowerment programme to support residents.

Benson urged residents and party stakeholders to work together towards delivering more than 250,000 votes for the APC in Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the forthcoming elections.
Hon. Moshood Abiodun Aro, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, commended Benson for his commitment to development, noting that visible projects make political mobilisation easier. He recalled previously raising concerns about road infrastructure and expressed appreciation for the progress recorded.
Similarly, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, APC Chairman in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, thanked God for the successful completion of the projects and praised Benson’s efforts. He pledged to mobilise 2,000 votes in support of the party in the forthcoming elections.
Hon. Adeseye Ogunlewe emphasised that Ikorodu had the potential to deliver 250,000 votes but stressed the need for effective grassroots mobilisation and improved coordination among party members. He identified limited participation in campaign council activities as one of the challenges requiring attention.
Hon. Araromi Ahmed Oladipo also expressed gratitude to residents and commended Benson for his contributions to the constituency. He acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Samson Babatunde to Mission Level Estate and appreciated past leaders, particularly Dr. Oyeneye Boyega, while calling for unity and a stronger commitment to collective interests.
Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Commissioner for the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, praised Benson’s performance, describing the roads and other interventions in education, healthcare and solar infrastructure as evidence of democratic dividends. She noted that such projects could improve economic activities and the overall well-being of residents.
Hon. Gafaar Oluwatoyin Bolowotan, APC candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency I, also commended Benson for his development efforts. He attributed the achievements recorded to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the President’s administration had helped create an enabling environment for the delivery of developmental projects.
Bolowotan urged residents to vote for President Tinubu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections, stressing that continued support for the party was necessary to sustain the development and democratic dividends being enjoyed by the people.
The road commissioning further highlighted the importance of collaboration among elected representatives, party leaders and community stakeholders in advancing development across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
