Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA witnessed a historic moment on Monday as Prince Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun officially resumed office as the Executive Chairman of the council. Accompanied by his Vice Chairman, Barr. Ade Ayeni, the newly inaugurated leadership wasted no time settling into duty—embarking on a facility tour and holding a strategic meeting with the Council Manager to get firsthand insight into the workings of the administration.
In an emotionally charged address, Chairman Aroyewun expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for the privilege to lead, and extended appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose visionary leadership, according to him, continues to inspire real development across all local councils in Lagos and Nigeria at large.
Aroyewun urged residents not to get carried away by titles. “Please, don’t see me as just a Chairman. I remain your son, your friend, your brother, and your neighbour in service. We’ve shared this community for years—I know where the shoe pinches.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to the GLORY Plan of Action, a faith-driven roadmap for transformation in key sectors such as education, healthcare, food security, infrastructure, youth development, safety, and environmental renewal. “This is not just another campaign document—it is a covenant with the people,” he emphasized.
The administration, according to HOA, will also be guided by its unique “ONA OGO” mantra—symbolizing a divine path to greatness. He called on all sons and daughters of IBLCDA to unite and actively support the vision of progress, growth, and inclusive governance.
In his words, “This is a new beginning. With unity, prayers, and partnership, I believe we will achieve the GLORY we seek. Together, we will write a legacy of impact for generations to come.”
As they stepped into their offices for the first time, both the Chairman and his Vice signaled readiness to lead with purpose and people-driven passion. Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA has entered a new chapter—one that promises hope, progress, and shared prosperity.
