The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, today, November 4, 2025, commissioned three newly constructed roads in Olowora Community as part of activities marking her 100 days in office in her second term of administration.
The roads — Isaac Omole Street, Adetuberu Street, and Temitayo Obisanyan Street — were inaugurated in the presence of top government officials, community leaders, and residents, symbolizing the administration’s continued commitment to infrastructure renewal and grassroots development.
In her address, Princess Bada described the event as a testament to purposeful leadership and people-centered governance.
“Right here in the heart of Olowora, today is not just about cutting ribbons; it is about connecting lives, opening access, and unlocking opportunities,” she said.
“Our vision was clear — to make every community accessible, functional, and prosperous. Roads are not just asphalt and concrete; they are the lifelines of economic progress. The reconstruction of Adetuberu Street, which is one of the longest and busiest streets in Olowora, was not just a response to residents’ demands, but an economic necessity.”
The council boss noted that the rehabilitated roads will ease the daily struggles of traders, transporters, artisans, and families by improving mobility, enhancing property value, and boosting local commerce.
“With this reconstruction, we are improving local business environments, creating safer roads, and promoting community growth. These roads now serve as vital corridors connecting the heart of Olowora, reducing traffic congestion, and improving access to homes and markets,” she added.
Princess Bada also appreciated the residents of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA for their consistent support and urged them to take ownership of the new infrastructure by maintaining and using it responsibly.
Representing the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert, was Mrs. Kikelomo, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry. She commended the Mayoress for her visionary leadership and passion for community development.
“Princess Bada is a true leader who loves her people. Her commitment to development through visible and impactful projects in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA deserves recognition and support,” Mrs. Kikelomo stated.
The event drew applause from community members who described the project as timely and transformative, reaffirming the Mayoress’s dedication to delivering on her Renewed Hope agenda for the people of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.
