
Youths of Ikorodu Endorse Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson for Transformational Leadership
Youth leaders, student representatives, and community stakeholders across Ikorodu Division have expressed strong support for Honourable Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Member of the House of Representatives, recognising his impactful leadership and sustained developmental efforts within Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
The endorsement was made during a stakeholders’ press conference and youth gathering held at the Ikorodu Town Hall, where various youth organisations, student bodies, voluntary associations, and community stakeholders gathered to commend his numerous projects and interventions across key sectors of development.
Speakers at the event described Hon. Babajimi Benson as a responsive and result-oriented representative whose leadership has translated into visible and impactful development in infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and community welfare.
Comrade Ogunkoya Jackson Adewale, speaking on behalf of youth leaders, stated that Hon. Benson has consistently delivered practical projects that directly improve the daily lives of constituents, rather than making empty political promises.
He highlighted major interventions facilitated by the lawmaker, including road construction projects, installation of transformers, solar-powered streetlights, renovation and construction of schools and healthcare centres, establishment of ICT hubs, youth employment initiatives, scholarships, and empowerment programmes.
According to him, these projects have significantly improved mobility, security, education, and economic opportunities across Ikorodu communities.
Comrade Waliu Adeyeri also described Hon. Benson as “Mr. Light,” referencing the widespread installation of solar-powered streetlights across Ikorodu Division, which has enhanced visibility, security, and nightlife activities in several communities.
Other youth representatives and stakeholders commended his continuous engagement with constituents and accessibility to young people, describing him as a leader who remains closely connected to the grassroots and responsive to community needs.
The gathering also featured goodwill messages from student leaders, youth coordinators, legislative aides, and community representatives, all of whom reaffirmed their support for his continued leadership and development agenda in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
