ILE-IFE, OSUN STATE — Princess Sandra Opeyemi Oladele Williams, South West Zonal Coordinator of the Tinubu Torch Bearers, has been honoured with the prestigious Akoni Oodua Heroine Hall of Fame Award 2026 for her contributions, leadership and service to society. 🏆
The recognition was presented at the Ooni Palace, Ile-Ife, Osun State, with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife, serving as the Grand Host.
In addition to the award, Princess Sandra Oladele Williams was appointed Matron of Akoni Oodua Heroine, a new responsibility recognising her leadership, humanitarian efforts and commitment to community development.
Recognition of Humanitarian Service
Princess Sandra is associated with several non-governmental organisations and community-focused initiatives through which she has contributed to humanitarian causes and supported people in need.
Some of the activities of the organisations she is involved with have also taken place at the Ooni Palace, further reflecting the connection between her humanitarian activities and traditional institutions.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Princess Sandra expressed her appreciation to His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, for the recognition and appointment.
She thanked the Ooni for creating a platform that celebrates women who have contributed meaningfully to society and pledged to continue using her position and platforms to promote service, compassion and development.
Princess Sandra also expressed appreciation to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging his leadership and expressing her continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She described the award and appointment as an encouragement to do more, promising to continue supporting initiatives that positively impact women, children, youths and vulnerable members of society.
As Matron of Akoni Oodua Heroine, Princess Sandra is expected to bring her experience in humanitarian activities, women mobilisation and community development to the role.
The recognition further adds to her responsibilities as South West Zonal Coordinator of the Tinubu Torch Bearers, while highlighting her continued involvement in initiatives focused on service to humanity.
