
Ikorodu youths have unanimously endorsed Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, in a strong show of support during a well-attended press conference held at the Ikorodu Town Hall.
The event brought together youth stakeholders from across Ikorodu Division, including representatives of youth organisations, student union leaders, voluntary associations, uniform groups, and key community stakeholders. The gathering served as a platform to review developmental strides and express collective appreciation for the Senator’s performance in office.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Ogunkoya Jackson Adewale highlighted several developmental projects and interventions attributed to Senator Abiru, describing them as visible and impactful initiatives that have positively transformed communities across Lagos East Senatorial District.
LASUSTECH SUG President Speaks
The President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) delivered a detailed testimony on the Senator’s contributions to education and youth development.
He noted that Senator Abiru facilitated the installation of over 200 solar-powered streetlights within LASUSTECH, significantly improving security, visibility, and the general learning environment on campus.
He further commended the Senator’s broader interventions across Ikorodu, including support for the construction and upgrade of community centres, as well as the development of modern healthcare facilities and upgraded medical centres across various communities.
He also highlighted the establishment of a state-of-the-art innovation laboratory, where students have benefited from technology training and scholarship opportunities, resulting in improved digital skills and innovation capacity among young people.
According to him, Senator Abiru has consistently supported student-led initiatives and youth empowerment programmes through both financial and institutional interventions, describing him as a leader who recognises the strategic importance of youths in development.
He concluded that the endorsement was based on visible performance and measurable impact, adding that over 35,000 LASUSTECH students stand in support of the Senator ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Comrade Kuku Tosin, President of Persons Living With Disabilities in Ikorodu West, appreciated the Senator’s inclusive policies and empowerment support, praying for continued success and greater achievements.
Comrade Soyiga Samuel Adeshina also praised the Senator’s outstanding performance, noting his accessibility and ease of communication with youths and constituents.
