Ikorodu, Lagos – August 8, 2025 As part of the 10th coronation anniversary celebrations of His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. Dr. AbdulKabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, residents enjoyed a life-changing gift—free eye care services and prescription glasses.
The programme, held on Friday, August 8, 2025, provided comprehensive vision screening, diagnosis, and corrective eyewear to hundreds of beneficiaries at no cost. Skilled optometrists and volunteers attended to people of all ages, ensuring everyone left with clearer vision and renewed hope.

Beneficiaries Share Their Gratitude
Mrs. Adeola, a trader from Solebo said she had been struggling with blurred vision for years but could not afford treatment.
For many, the event was more than a medical outreach—it was a blessing.
“Today, I can finally see clearly. I’m grateful to Kabiyesi for bringing this to us. I will be able to work better and live better.”
Seventy-year-old Mr. Lawal, a retired teacher, described the experience as “life-changing.”
“I thought my eyes would just keep getting worse because I didn’t have money for new glasses. This gesture has restored my sight and my confidence.”
Miss Aishat , smiled as she put on her new pair of glasses.
“I used to sit in front of the class but still couldn’t see the board properly. Now everything is clear. I will do better in school.”
