Ikorodu, Lagos – August 2025
The 10th coronation anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. Dr. AbdulKabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, continues to attract tributes from political leaders, community figures, and indigenes at home and abroad.
Among those celebrating the monarch is Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency I, who praised the Ayangburen’s decade-long reign as a period marked by peace, unity, and remarkable development.
Speaking to QuickGist during the thanksgiving service, Hon. Ogunleye described Alayeluwa as “a peaceful king who has transformed the Ikorodu Kingdom.”
He commended the monarch for his visionary leadership, cultural preservation efforts, and consistent investment in the welfare of his people through programmes such as scholarships, empowerment schemes, and community development projects.
“Kabiyesi has been a father to all, a promoter of our heritage, and a bridge between tradition and modern governance,” Ogunleye said. “His ten years on the throne have brought progress in every sense—socially, economically, and culturally.”
A Celebration of Impact
The Ayangburen at 10 festivities have been more than a ceremonial milestone. They have featured free eye care services, financial empowerment for women, scholarships for over 85 students, and support for creative entrepreneurs in fashion—all reinforcing the monarch’s commitment to lifting his people.
As Ikorodu celebrates, Hon. Ogunleye joins countless others in praying for Kabiyesi’s continued good health, wisdom, and a long, peaceful reign.
